Monk Street kid was quick on the draw with trusty cap gun

When David Kirkman was little he was mad about cowboys and could frequently be spotted playing out in Stockbrook Street and Monk Street dressed in his cowboy hat, with his toy gun and belt. He is pictured, above, outside his grandfather James Haynes' shop at 17 Stockbrook Street and, left, in the hat with some playmates in the yard of his parents' shop in Monk Street.
